Megabass of America, the North American arm of Japan’s premier builder of high-end fishing tackle, is pleased to announce the opening of a new distribution center and corporate headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA, in December of 2018.

“In an effort to better support the dealers and anglers who drive Megabass’ growth in the North American market, we are pleased to announce the opening of our new Pittsburgh facility,” said Yuskei Murayama, CEO of Megabass of America. “This new HQ will not only expand our capacity significantly but also lay the foundation for the next phase of our long-term strategic vision.”

In conjunction with the opening of this new facility, Megabass is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew J. Evans as Operations Manager, effective immediately.

Matt joins Megabass by way of Dick’s Sporting Goods, where he managed nationwide lure and terminal tackle assortments as an associate buyer in the fishing tackle department. Prior to his eight-years at Dick’s, Matt worked as a manufacturer’s rep in Northern California, and also as a regional manager at Sportsman’s Warehouse.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the Megabass family,” said Matt. “It’s exciting to have the opportunity to work with a premier brand that is synonymous with superior quality that myself and so many passionate anglers trust. I’m looking forward to working with our partners and confident we’ll continue to strengthen and grow our mutual businesses.”
